Group Therapy is a very dynamic kind of psychotherapy. It can be intimidating to think about engaging in therapy with more than one other person, however, that is why we focus on creating safety and trust in group therapy.
In group therapy, change occurs via relationships with other participants. As a result, you will develop social skills and the ability to express yourself effectively. In addition, you will also find and build a community.
I co-facilitate two therapy groups with my colleague, Dr. Marcia Nimmer: one for women recovering from sexual trauma and a women’s bereavement group. In order to join a group, you must complete an in-person or video intake with Dr. Smith or Dr. Nimmer. However, due to COVID-19 safety concerns, groups are being conducted via Zoom.
